A poem relating an experience with my littles down at the creek near our home. Everything was fresh with the newness of summer.
Tentative Step

The tentative step into the wild
First sensations pluck and prod
Cries of alarm, a grabbing child
Give way to bewildered joy
Pricking bush and poking branch
Frigid streams, the bane of boy
Yet, stepping out again into chance
Mother nature, God's best teacher
